Style #2700-B - Synthetic Fiber Graphite, Round, Braided packing is designed for medium or low-temperature steam (up to 500°F), hot or cold water, and aqueous solutions (except strong mineral acids). Suitable for piston and valve rods of pumps, valve stems, and centrifugal pump shafts, this packing is constructed from non-asbestos yarns in a braid-over-braid rope configuration. Each strand is thoroughly impregnated with a mineral fat lubricant and graphite, while the interlock braid uses carded synthetic yarns impregnated with petroleum-based lubricants and finished with graphite. It is effective at temperatures up to 500°F.
