Gaskets are normally cut from a flat sheet material such as paper, rubber, silicone, cork, compressed sheet, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), among many others.
Gaskets are cut to size with or without bolt holes in various thicknesses and materials—whatever is suitable to the media, temperature, and pressures of the application—all of which factor into material selection.
